GRITSTONES CLEAN UP AT LAST ROYAL SHOW

 

Mr Terry proudly showed his Champion Ram, Bred by Frank Ainsworth of Turnhill Farm, Rossendale, and stole the award for Champion Gritstone and Champion Any Other Pure Breed, beating off opposition from Galways, Scottish Blackface and Blue Texels.

Mr Terry also had Reserve Champion Gritstone with a Ewe that had reared lambs this season.

Mr John Terry of Oak Tree Farm, Higham on the Hill, Warwickshire ensured that the Derbyshire Gritstones went out in style at the last Royal Show

Another of Mr Terry's proud achievements was to make the final eight in the Supreme Interbred Sheep Championship.

Being drawn from thirty-nine breeds, a total of nine hundred and twenty one sheep starting - the Texel finally winning the event.
